You may have the audio for the Allman Brothers’ 1970 classic, At Fillmore East, but have you ever seen an earlier, shorter performance from the same club? You probably haven’t, but here’s your chance. The band’s famous Sept. 23, 1970 performance was recently officially released on YouTube as the newest part of Music Vault‘s vast library of classic concerts.
The Allmans, in this case, were just part of an impressive lineup that also included Van Morrison, the Byrds, the Elvin Bishop Group and even Sha-Na-Na. It was assembled by legendary promoter Bill Graham for the TV special, Welcome to the Fillmore East.
This Allmans performance was filmed six months before the band’s iconic Live at the Fillmore East album was recorded. Watch their earlier 25-minute performance from the TV special here >>> http://wzlx.cbslocal.com/2014/11/14/allman-brothers-fillmore-east-1970/
